Last night, having drank many many egg nogg lattes from Starbucks this week without even knowing exactly what egg nogg is, I decided to make the fabled drink at home. The outcome was bangin' if not a little filling. a perfect evening hot toddie kinda thang.

My phone is super terrible at taking photos now-a-days, especially when it comes to making things look appealing so you're just going to have to trust me.
First, heat up around half a pint of milk in a pan on the hob, don't allow to boil and move occasionally.

Break one egg into a container along with a tablespoon of soft brown sugar.

Whisk and add a shot or two of Cognac. you can use rum or brandy i think, but I had Cognac. It'll look like dark toffee or something, looks more like shit on here.

Place spoon into the glass if you're using the glass you're going to be drinking it from as i did. This is so it doesn't crack. Then slowly whisk in all the hot milk. Grate on a good amount of nutmeg and enjoy.

It's like alcoholic custard in a glass. And it sent me right off to sleep. Got this recipe out of an awesome, retro cocktail book at my Mum and Dad's, so there'll be more where this came from. Meanwhile try it out for size.
